Over here you will be able to manage everything related to images
in the forum.
7.5.1 Creating an avatar
From here you can browse your computer to upload a picture from
your hard drive and upload it to our server in order to use it as an
avatar
7.5.2 Personal smileys and keywords
You can save up to ten personal smileys on the server (depending
on the administrator’s choice) by clicking on the link “Manage your
personal smileys” in your profile:
You can modify those smileys as often as you wish. There is only
one restriction: each of them has to be approved by a forum manager
before they can be used on the forum.
Along with personal smileys, you can define keywords associated
with them. Your personal smileys will be added to the forum library so
that they can be found by other members
7.5.3 Favourite smileys
From here you can easily manage your favourite smileys that will
be displayed in the reply field when you post a message in the forum.
When clicking on the link, you will be redirected to a page from
where you can select your favourite smileys among other members’ personal smileys
Once you have entered the code and validated your choice, the
smileys will then be part of your favourite list
Also, you will find a search engine to find keywords for
members’ smileys. Simply enter the keyword, click on Search and you
will get a list of smileys associated to this keyword. A single click
on the smiley of your choice and it will be added to your favourite
list
This smiley will also appear at the left of the reply field,
under the default smileys, each
time you want to participate to the forum
You can delete some personal smileys from your favourites by
clicking on the corresponding link. Simply check the ones your want to
delete and validate this choice.
Tips
In the personal smiley windows, simply click on the emoticon
of your choice to auto fill the codebox..
7.5.4 Images Directory
Attention
This feature is not available on all MD Forums
Usually, in order to display an image or a photo on a forum, it
has to be previously uploaded on the Internet in order to get a link
like http://..... This is why you will have to find a host and to use
a FTP client to transfer your pictures. You can also use a third party
service created for this very purpose.
With this feature, however, the forum itself will host your
pictures making it much easier on your side. This is also a good way
to share pictures with other forum members.
If you click on "Add new pictures", you will be directed to a
form where you can upload several photos. Click on "browse", search
for the picture on your hard drive and validate your choice.
After the upload process, which might take several minutes
depending on the size of your picture, an auto-generated name will
appear in parenthesis.
Note that the green storage meter will give you information on
the storage available for your account (this storage capacity is
predefined by the administrator).
Note
If the size of your pictures is greater than the allowed size,
they will be classified among the "pictures waiting to be validated"
where you can resize them.
You can browse your photo library by clicking on "Images hosted
on the Forum" where you can see your recently uploaded pictures as
well as older ones.
From there, you can also delete pictures by selecting the "Del"
box and validating this choice by clicking on "Delete the selected
items"
It is now very easy to insert those pictures on the forum. Above
all your messages you will find a new icon that will pop-up a new
window enabling your to retrieve the HTML code of the image of your
choice.
Tips
You do not even need to copy and paste this code. Simply click
on the image of your choice to automatically insert it in your
message body
